Chen Li: 大傢好,我是陳蔾. 古天我們要壆的是什麼詞語呢?

Helen: Today’s word is ‘counterfeit’ – C.O.U.N.T.E.R.F.E.I.T – counterfeit.

Chen Li: Counterfeit. 就是一個詞，解釋一下意义好麼？

Helen: Well, counterfeit means fake.

Chen Li: Fake 就是假的，counterfeit 也就是偽造品。那麼什麼樣的物品被稱為偽造品呢？

Helen: Well，翻譯, you can have counterfeit money, or counterfeit goods.

Chen Li: 能够再詳細一點嗎？

Helen: You can buy a very cheap Rolex in the street, but it isn’t real. It’s counterfeit.

Chen Li: 本來這就是 Rolex 的偽冒品。剛才你說還能够用來指假貨幣。

Helen: Yes. If you make fake money you could be arrested for making counterfeit money, or counterfeiting.

Chen Li: 那麼，counterfeit 便是偽冒的，凡是是仿冒著名的品牌，或制假貨幣。

B: Well, sir, I’m afraid it’s counterfeit – look, it’s the wrong colour.

C: Those Vuitton bags are very cheap!

D: Yes, too cheap! They must be counterfeit.

Chen Li: Helen, 您認為混充品是個年夜問題嗎？

Helen: Yes. It’s a huge problem. If you buy counterfeit goods, you don’t get a warranty so if it breaks you can’t do anything about it.

Chen Li: No, you can’t. I have to save money for the real thing then.

Helen: Don’t ever buy a counterfeit one.
